In his second effort, Neeraj made his best throw of 88.17 meters and managed to maintain his lead till the very finish. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, the Commonwealth Games champion, took silver with a throw of 87.82 meters, while Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic took bronze with a throw of 86.67 meters. Kishore Jena of India finished fifth (best of 84.77 m), while DP Manu of India finished sixth (best of 84.14 m).
