It’s the 27th birthday of Athiya Shetty on November 5, and this year the two-film old actress expressed her pleasure in spending a working birthday. “I have no plans. Surprisingly, I usually never have plans on my birthday. I just go with the flow. I prefer to be on the sets because I am (the) happiest there. This year, I think I will be doing promotions and interviews,” Says Athiya next to the critically acclaimed star, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, in ‘ Motichoor Chaknachoor. ‘

Athiya, however, was always having fun birthday parties as a child. The actress ‘ Mubarakan ‘ said, “I think my parents were more excited about my birthdays than me. My brother and I always used to have joint birthdays. We always had very fun-themed birthdays. I remember I once celebrated our birthday in an arcade playing games. I also used to be obsessed with putting Mehendi. So, I had a Mehendi party. The dress code was lehengas and we danced to ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and all the 90s Bollywood songs,” adding, “I used to mix chocolate cake and potato chips and used to have that. That’s always been my birthday memory.”

Interestingly, Athiya shares what tops her choice for meals. “I am obsessed with Rajma Chawal and I know it’s something very simple. But every birthday, one meal is always Rajma chawal. But I remember in school we were allowed to get something for somebody’s birthday. All my classmates only used to get me food and I went to the American school of Bombay and there were lots of students from different parts of the world. So, I used to eat food from every part of the world on my birthday,” said Athiya.
