Actress Tanushree Dutta started the MeToo movement in India four years ago after she opened up about her ordeal with Nana Patekar. She had accused the senior actor of misbehaving and sexually harassing her during the shoot of a song for the film ‘Horn Ok Pleasss.’ Now, in a recent interview, the Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress has made some shocking claims as she revealed multiple attempts were made to kill her after #Meetoo. From tampering with her car brakes to the maid trying to give her poison, several attempts were done to take her life.
Speaking with Connect FM Canada, Tanushree revealed that she met with an incident that inflicted several injuries on her and she took a lot of time to heal due to blood loss. The actress also mentioned that during her stay in Ujjain, the brakes of her car were tampered for several times. “I met with an accident and it was a very bad accident. I was just short of breaking some bones. It set me back for a couple of months, and it took me time to heal from those injuries as there was a lot of blood loss,” Dutta was quoted saying
The Dhol actress also recalled that once someone tried to poison her at home. Tanushree stated, “There was a maid, who was, in my words, planted in my house and I just progressively fell sick. Now, it is my suspicion that there was something being mixed in my water.”
The actress, who returned to India in 2020, has also been very vocal about not getting work after she shared her story in public against Nana Patekar. In a social media post, she revealed that despite getting offers and signing projects, nothing materialized as the producers and directors suddenly went into “incognito mode.” Tanushree is known for her stint in movies like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Bhagam Bhag and Dhol. She stayed away from the industry for several years.
