Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Bhavya Gandhi who is popular for playing the role of Tapu in the sitcom lost his father, Vinod Gandhi, to Covid-19. Bhavya’s father had tested positive for the coronavirus a couple of weeks ago, and was fighting for his life for over 10 days at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, as per reports.
Vinod Gandhi was into the construction business. He is survived by his wife Yashoda Gandhi and sons Bhavya and Nischit. Bhavya had quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, four years ago to try his luck in films.
Bhavya is currently away from the small screen and has recently done some Gujarati films. He originally played the character of Tipendra Lal Gada aka Tapu and left the show in the year 2017. He did the show for close to 9 years. However, as there was no growth in the character he quit the show. Bhavya still shares a close bond with Taarak’s actors like Disha Vakani, who played his mother, Dilip Joshi and Samay Shah aka Gogi.
