Former beauty queen and actress Urvashi Rautela, who recently made her debut appearance at the 75th Cannes Film Festival just hours ago, announced her global ambassadorship with Smile Train.
Smile Train, an international children’s charity, has been instrumental in providing 100%-free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care for underprivileged children globally. Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft and, if left untreated, develops difficulties eating, breathing, hearing and speaking. Unfortunately, often kids miss being treated due to lack of awareness and inability to afford proper cleft care. Over the years, many Indian beauty queens have paired with the organisation to spread awareness, including our reigning queen Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu.
The diva, who is currently in Indonesia, visited Smile Train in Bali, where they were celebrating their milestone of supporting 100,000 cleft surgeries in Indonesia. Taking to social media to announce her association, Urvashi wrote, “I am truly honored to have spent today with @smiletrain visiting their local programs in Bali and celebrating their milestone of supporting 100,000 cleft surgeries in Indonesia. ♥️
I could not be more excited to announce my global ambassadorship with @smiletrain, and I cannot wait to change the world one smile at a time together!”
We hope that this association will be a blessing to many kids with untreated clefts worldwide.
